An engawa veranda lying between indoors and outdoors.
Softly separating, softly connecting.
“Niwato House” embraces this spirit of awai.
Walk along the stone-paved alley, pass through the inner courtyard, and you arrive at the living room.
At the boundary between the room and the rear garden lies a reflecting water basin,
where greenery and light ripple across the water’s surface and drift gently into the interior.
Morning light, evening breeze, the stillness of night — inside and outside dissolve into one another here.
Time spent in this house feels like dwelling in the gentle threshold between the ordinary and the extraordinary.
