Asahi House, basking in morning sunshine.
Yuhi House, awash in the evening glow.
These adjoined machiya-style inns are built exactly alike.

They are tucked away in a quiet residential area within easy reach of the city center, offering convenience for sightseeing around Kyoto.  Tasteful machiya elements with modern twists are found in every corner of each inn.  The Japanese artisanal touch lends an additional charm to each space.

These unpretentious yet meticulous furnishings will intrigue even the most seasoned traveler.  All amenities are fully provided for a comfortable stay in any season, allowing guests to unwind in these intimate retreats.  Just like a home in Kyoto, every time you open the door, you will whisper with joy “I’m home.”

The spacious kitchen is equipped with a large sink, electric kettle, espresso machine, microwave, toaster, and a refrigerator.
Plates, bowls, cutlery, kitchen tools and pots are available, allowing comfortable long stays.
The main bedroom. The semi-double beds are custom-made by Simmons for Asahi House. We promise you a peaceful sleep.
The sub-bedroom has two single beds, also made by Simmons.
All the towels are made in Imabari, where it is recognized as the mecca of high quality towels in Japan.
The spacious washroom can be used by two people at the same time. You can prepare well in the morning.
The bath is equipped with a large bathtub. Soak in warm water to heal the fatigue of your trip.
In the living room, chairs and sofas are arranged around the table.
The natural wood used in the flooring is treated in "naguri" style, which is a traditional carving technique.
It may look like a modern house at first, but when looked closely, you will spot traditional elements of machiya everywhere.

For those who wish, we offer bread or Japanese food for breakfast,and Japanese food with plenty of seasonal ingredients for dinner.

Asahi House is about 3-minute walk from Mibu Soshajo-mae bus station.
