Dream in a postcard panorama.

Dream in a postcard panorama.

Within a few seconds’ walk from bustling Yasaka Street, Nozomu House is tucked away in a quiet alleyway.  This convenient hideaway inn boasts an expansive and dramatic open-air bath, with an upstairs window offering a splendid view of the Yasaka-no-to Pagoda.

You may remember having looked up the pagoda from the crowded street.  However, viewing the pagoda from the window may give you a somewhat different impression; appearing rather intimate.  This abrupt change in perspective will draw you in.

Unwinding in this inn, you will gradually feel as though you have immersed into part of Kyoto’s historic townscape that you once admired on a postcard.  Dream well, and on the next day, enjoy an early morning walk along the empty Kiyomizu approach.

Away from its aspect as a vibrant tourist area, you will sense the serenity and sacredness of the Kiyomizu district that ancient folks had originally intended.

The living room with black tatami mats exquisitely matches Japanese and contemporary design. Enjoy the changing seasons by looking at the garden trees, enjoying company of friends, or spending your time as you please.
The kitchen is equipped with IH cooking heaters, refrigerator, electric kettle, espresso machine, tableware and cutlery.
There are 2 beds in the main bedroom. From the window, you can see the scenery of Kiyomizu and the mountains of Higashiyama, and you will realize once again that this is Kyoto as you saw it on the postcard.
Our Japanese-style room with a lot of sunshine. This room can be used for reading, meditation, work, or just to relax. Up to 3 sets of futons are available.
The house is equipped with a large-capacity washing and drying machine. Complementary laundry detergent and softner are also available.
The Swiss Geneva speaker is installed for your enjoyment. With Bluetooth connection, you can immerse yourself in your favorite music as soon as you arrive.
The open-air bath that this house is known for. If enough hot water is poured in, the edge of the bath will disappear, allowing a sense of liberation during your relaxing bath time. You will enjoy different expressions of light depending on the time of the day, so we hope you enjoy our bath as many times as you'd like during the visit.
The shower room is seamlessly connected to the open-air bath, making it easy to use. Towels made in Imabari are soft and well-known for their high quality.
The amenities are by Leaf & Botanics. Guests will enjoy soothing fragrance emitted from 100% plant-based natural essential oils.
Enjoy freshly baked bread, seasonal soup, and fresh salad for breakfast, curated from bakeries in Kyoto. Reservation required.
