Although the typical machiya-house design is that of a long building with a narrow facade, Noboru House offers a high-ceilinged, multi-layered space that will immediately intrigue guests.
Looking upward, you will be sparked with curiosity. One step, two steps…, you will slowly ascend the stair-like structure, wondering if the structure you are climbing is a stairway or part of a corridor. On the way to the top floor. you will be thrilled as many unusual structures and facilities appear. The dining table which also acts as the stairway; the cozy attic-like bedroom; and the loft-like place called ukiyuka, a floating floor, which is perfect for meditation—all the spaces are designed to simply entertain guests.
Looking down from the top story, you will realize that you can sit and unwind in every corner of this house. Where to nestle next? This will be at the forefront of your mind during your stay.
