Seek comfort in the multi-layered space.

Although the typical machiya-house design is that of a long building with a narrow facade, Noboru House offers a high-ceilinged, multi-layered space that will immediately intrigue guests.

Looking upward, you will be sparked with curiosity.  One step, two steps…, you will slowly ascend the stair-like structure, wondering if the structure you are climbing is a stairway or part of a corridor.  On the way to the top floor.  you will be thrilled as many unusual structures and facilities appear.  The dining table which also acts as the stairway; the cozy attic-like bedroom; and the loft-like place called ukiyuka, a floating floor, which is perfect for meditation—all the spaces are designed to simply entertain guests.

Looking down from the top story, you will realize that you can sit and unwind in every corner of this house.  Where to nestle next? This will be at the forefront of your mind during your stay.

The living/dining area is minimally designed to utilize the space.
Plates, bowls, coffee mugs, glassware, cutlery, and simple kitchen tools are available, allowing comfortable long stays.
The main bedroom has one wide-double bed, custom-made by Simmons for Noboru House. We promise you a peaceful sleep.
The cozy sub bedroom has one queen-size bed, which is embedded into the ground.
Ukiyuka (literally translates to "floating floor") is a minimal space where guests are free to drink coffee, read, or even meditate.
The floor, stairs, dining table, and bench are all made with solid wood, giving the interior a unified feeling.
All the towels at Noboru House are made in Imabari, where it is recognized as the mecca of high quality towels in Japan.
The spacious washroom can be used by two people at the same time. You can prepare well in the morning.
Noboru House is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, in the central area of Kyoto, convenient for travelers.
The bathroom is one of the places our guests enjoy the most. Enjoy the view of our ever-changing garden while relaxing in the bathtub.
