Meguru House boasts a wide range of comfortable rooms.  These include an airy, high-ceilinged living room designed for intimate dining moments and a spacious bedroom drenched in morning light.

At the rear of the building is an enchanting room filled with decades-old rustic charms, offering a private view of a tiny garden.  Traces of former machiya-style architecture are found in every corner of the house, creating delightful harmony with the modern design.

The most outstanding feature is an enigmatic cubicle set in the center of the building.  Inside the cubicle is an open-ceiling bathroom offset by black stuccoed walls.

Feeling the playful spirit of this extraordinary structure, why not make plans to stroll around Kyoto? The itinerary has the potential to be far from ordinary.

Enjoy freshly baked bread and soup for breakfast, curated from bakeries in Kyoto. Reservation required.
The living room is located at the entrance, along with a kitchen for simple cooking.
The main bedroom. The queen-size bed mattress is custom-made by Simmons for Meguru House. We promise you a peaceful sleep.
The Japanese-style room, with 2 semi-double beds, is large enough for 2 adults to sleep comfortably. The windows offer a view of the greenery of the neighboring temple.
The unique bathroom is located at the center of the house in a box-shaped structure.
All the towels are made in Imabari, where it is recognized as the mecca of high quality towels in Japan.
The light from the sky reflects off the rough, old-fashioned walls, creating a feeling of depth around the ceiling.
The windows on the upper floor give you a glimpse of the adjoining temple.
Most of the architecture in the garden remains untouched. Enjoy the expression of wabi-sabi as well as the changing view of the plants.
Meguru House is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, in the central area of Kyoto, convenient for travelers.
